Competition entries for the Sport In Focus 2012 competition may have closed but the some of the most exciting parts of the project are to come over the next few months.

With 594 pictures entered our independent selectors and judges along with SiF team have a tough job narrowing down the choices for the book and exhibitions. Then the judges have to choose the overall winner!

Firstly the book, with a forward by former Sports Journalist of the Year Stephen Jones of the Sunday Times, containing about 100 of the best images will available late in June 2012. You will be able purchase the book on this website and to pre-order it here in a few weeks time. Check back soon to find out the dates.

There will then be two public exhibitions of some of the best pictures. The first exhibition with be in the Royal Windsor shopping centre from 7th-14th July. The second exhibition will be in the Nicholsons Centre Maidenhead from 15th-21st July. A further display will be held at the Magnet Leisure Centre, Maidenhead. The book will also be available to purchase at the exhibitions.

In a few weeks time we will announce the overall winner plus those for the U16 and separate schools' competition. The overall winner will be invited to a go pitch-side at a Premiership football match with Daily Mail chief sports photographer Andy Hooper. It’s an exciting and unique opportunity, something money couldn't buy.
